It is with great sadness that I read this obituary. Jonathan and I both worked YEARS ago at restaurant Mondrian and he was a delightful person. Often we would sing “ditties” from The Little Mermaid and he would always rhapsodize about his nieces and nephews who he, evidently, loved dearly. I always looked for him on social media, looking to re-connect, just to say a hello. Last we saw each other was a bar on 9th Ave, in NYC, where he worked. I wish we had kept in touch. Incidentally, in July 2017, I learned my brother was terminally ill and would pass that subsequent November. I will fondly remember my Fordham bother. Rest In Peace. My most sincerest condolences to the parents, siblings and of course nieces and nephews.

I just read of Jon's passing in the Prep News. I am so very sorry. I was in Christopher's class at the Prep but played clarinet in the band along with Jon. I enjoyed playing duets with him as practice for his lessons with Arne Running, our mentor. Jon was a wonderful friend with a clever and amusing wit and I have often thought of him over the years. May he rest in peace in the arms of the Lord.

I heard it from a friend who, heard it from a friend, who, heard that you died (anyone who knew Jon in the early to mid1980s will excuse my riff on REO SpeedWagon, a group we loved to sing with at Fordham). You helped me through a difficult time back in those days, and I regret having no contact in the past 20 years. My condolences to the Claudy family. Laura

What a bright soul. What a bright smile. How magnetic can one person be? In a city of skyscrapers and egos he was a breath of the freshest air and light flew off him like a neon sign. Ninth Avenue wouldn't have been the same without him. To his family and friends that I never knew I offer my condolences. Also know that he will be loved, missed, and remembered...the sweetest boy and best man.

My heart heaves along with all others lucky enough to have been in Jonny's orbit. What a charismatic, hilarious, generous soul he was. I'm so saddened by his loss but consider myself SO lucky to have been his friend.

Prayers and fond memories are what we have to remember our dearly departed. May the love of family and friends comfort you during these difficult days, my most heartfelt condolences.
As Jon neighbor I will always remember his smile. I would complement him on how great his yard & house was looking. You can tell the pride he had by his presence & smile.

How sad we were to learn of Jonathan's passing. He had such wit and a sense of humor and his smile would brighten a room. We will always remember the fun anniversary dinner we had at Jake's in Manayunk where Jonathan was bartending and he made sure we had special treatment with a tray of appetizers delivered to our table, he introduced us to Blanton bourbon that night and he was over the top with service. And then there was the night we had dinner at Bay Pony Inn and he marched around the private dining room with the American flag singing away. Who couldn't help but love this wonderful free spirited man. Our sympathy to the Claudy family for a beautiful life cut tragically short. RIP Jonathan.

Jon could light up a room even when he himself was not in the best place. We, and by that I mean many of us, enjoyed many days remembering where our lives had been and where we hoped they were going. Jon was a very talented man, he had a beautiful voice and he could deliver his lines with meaning and could make us laugh. All of us will miss him forever, but his voice will live in our hearts. "Mrs. Fred its Jon how are you and Mr. Fred doing? " The smile is with us, lucky are we. Peace be with you Jon.
