Martha Jane Phillips Obituary

1926 – 2017

MARTHA  “JANE”  PHILLIPS  (nee Gamble), age 91, passed away on December 14, 2017, surrounded by family and loved ones.  She was the daughter of the late, Wilson and Helen (Huff) Gamble, and the wife of late Harry C. Phillips.     Jane was born in Glenolden, and resided for many years in Yeadon, before moving to her late residence in Swarthmore, PA.  While living in Yeadon, she was a lifelong member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church, where she was an active member in many church activities.      During her working years, Jane was employed at Beneficial Bank and Station WHYY.

Jane, leaves behind  her devoted son, Stephen H. Phillips,Sr., 2 cherished grandchildren, Stephen H. Phillips, Jr. (Dana),of Media, and Heather A. Phillips, Sea Isle City, N.J., 2 great grandsons, Zachary and Derek  Phillips, and sister-in-laws Harriet (Robert) Clawson and Beryl (Alan) Marshall.  She was cared for by her devoted friends, and a special thank you to her caregiver, Jen.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service, Wed., Dec. 20th 1:30 PM  at Trinity Episcopal Church, 301 N. Chester Road, Swarthmore, Pa. 19081.  There will be a Visitation 12:30-1:20 PM Wed. at the Church as well.   Interment to follow at Arlington Cemetery,  Drexel Hill, PA.
