William L. “Bill” Fink Obituary

William L. Fink “Bill”, 90, of West Chester, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2024 in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania.  Bill was born on November 3, 1933 to Louis and Margaret Fink in Louisville, Kentucky and moved to the area with his family when he was 4.  After graduating from Haverford High in 1952, he married his high school sweetheart Jacqueline Bloom “Jackie”.  She was the one who in his yearbook said she would never forget her senior year because he was the one who made it so terrific.  Bill went on to study Engineering at Drexel Institute of Technology.

He had a strong start to his engineering career.  During his 16 years at a local engineering firm, Jack P. Hartmann, PE Inc., he advanced from draftsman to Executive Vice President.  He would go on to start his own mechanical  engineering consulting firm.

Bill and Jackie would have 5 children.  He was a devoted husband and father, and enjoyed nothing more than travelling with his wife and supporting his children’s athletic and professional careers.  He was one of those fathers that attended every single youth football practice in addition to all the games. He taught his children the importance of family and work life balance. Bill loved cars, having more than you can count throughout his life.  He also had a great sense of humor and a penchant for doing his own home improvements.

Bill was predeceased by his wife Jackie; his sister Susan; and his parents, Louis and Margaret.  He is survived by children Jerry (Kim), Dennis (Dee), Will (Donna), Steve (Lisa), Michelle (Steve); and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Maris Grove Staff Appreciation Fund (Maris Grove Resident Care Fund c/o Philanthropy Office Maris Grove, 200 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mills, PA 19342).
