William Joseph D'Amico, known affectionately to family and friends as Bill, passed away on May 1, 2026, in Broomall at the age of 93.
Born on October 9, 1932, in Chadds Ford, he was the son of the late John and Hannah (Cooper) D'Amico. Bill grew up with the values of hard work, loyalty, and family that would guide him throughout his life, and he carried those values with him in all that he did. He was a man who admired for being generous, handy, and friendly, and those qualities were evident to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Bill spent much of his working life as the owner and operator of the former D'Amico Automotive in Chadds Ford. Through his business, he built a reputation for skill, honesty, and dependable service. He took pride in his work and in the relationships he formed with customers, neighbors, and friends over the years. His practical knowledge and ability to fix just about anything made him trusted presence in the community, and many will remember him as someone who could always be counted on to lend a hand or offer sound advice.
Outside of work, Bill enjoyed the simple pleasures that brought him happiness. He liked hunting, shooting pool, boating, and classic car events. These interests reflected his appreciation for craftsmanship, patience, and time spent with others. Whether he was enjoying a day outdoors, or sharing time with friends, Bill found joy in activities that allowed him to stay active and connected to the people and things he loved.
On June 27, 1976, Bill married Norma Ann (Pagliaro) D'Amico, and together they shared many years of devotion and companionship. Their marriage was a source of strength and comfort, and their life together was enriched by the love of their blended family. He is survived by his wife, Norma Ann; his children, William D'Amico, Margaret Shepherd, John D'Amico, Michael D'Amico, Leanne Williams, and Mark D'Amico; and stepchildren, Linda Farinella, Karen Farinella, and Peter Farinella. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, all of whom brought him great pride and joy.
Bill's family was at the center of his life, and he treasured the moments he shared with them. He was a devoted husband, father, stepfather and grandfather whose love and support were felt in countless ways. His presence at family gatherings, his willingness to help when needed, and his warm personality created lasting memories for those closest to him. He will be remembered not only for the work he did and the interests he enjoyed, but also for the kindness and steadiness he brought to the lives of others.
Those who knew Bill will remember a man of strong character and quiet generosity. He had a friendly manner that out people at ease, a helpful spirit that made him a natural problem solver, and a genuine warmth that left a lasting impression. His life was one of dedication, resilience, and love, and he leaves behind a legacy that will continue through his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Bill D'Amico's life was a testament to the value of hard work, family, and friendship. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
