William Askins Obituary

William R. Askins, of Center City, passed away on July 15, 2022, at the age of 80. Former professor at Philadelphia Community College where he worked his entire career. Mayor of the Schuylkill River Dog Park.

Beloved husband of Bette (nee Moorehead) Askins. Father of Lisa Askins, Dennis Askins and stepfather of Meegan Coll. Grandfather of Lindsay McGinley and River Carnes-Askins. Devoted companion to Mick the terrier.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass Wednesday, July 20, 2022, 10:30 AM at St. Patrick’s Church, 20th & Locust Sts., Phila., PA 19103, where friends may call from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM prior to Mass at the church.

Interment is private.

In lieu of flowers family prefers contributions to Save Me Dog Rescue, 2609 Federal St., Phila., PA 19146.
