Willard Carpenter Kynett, Jr. (Bill), 91, cherished husband of Carol Ward Kynett, went home to be with the Lord on July 14, 2025.
Bill moved to Springfield as a boy, where he excelled in sports, being inducted into the Springfield High School Hall of Fame in 2011 for his personal achievements in football, basketball and track, and again in 2012 as a member of the Boy’s 1953 Basketball team.
He attended Muhlenberg College where he ran track. He served honorably in the United States Navy aboard the USS John W. Weeks achieving the rank of QM3.
Bill retired from a successful career in the insurance industry and spent the next three decades pursuing his love of antique cars and sharing adventures with his wife who was the love of his life to his very last breath.
Bill was predeceased by his son, Kerry Stephen Kynett. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Carol, his sister Constance Rustch, sons Willard C. Kynett, III (Elizabeth) and Kenneth D. Kynett (Karen), grandchildren Erin, Cameron, Kerry (Cheri) and Kyle (Jessika) and great granddaughters Kylah and Stella, all of whom will miss this humble, gentle and loving man.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bill Kynett may be made to Main Line Hospice, 240 North Radnor Chester Road, Suite 100, Radnor, PA 19087 (Main Line Health Hospice) or the American Cancer Society, 1818 Market Street, Suite 2820, Philadelphia, PA 19103 (American Cancer Society).
Services to be held at 11:00am on Saturday, September 20th, 2025 at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 2220 Sproul Rd., Broomall, PA 19008. Family and friends will be received at church from 9:30 to 11:00am.
In honor of Bill’s lifelong passion for classic cars, guests are invited to drive their antique or vintage vehicles to the service as a special tribute.
