Vincent "Jim" M. Castagna, a long-time resident of Clifton Heights, as well as Yeadon and Wildwood Crest, passed away suddenly on Monday, the third of May 2021. He was 92 years old. Family meant everything to him. He was a beloved Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather. Jim was also a devoted and loving husband to Rose, his high school sweetheart and wife of 69 years, who sadly preceded him in death.
He was a graduate of John Bartram High School and a self-taught man of many trades. He worked for the Campbell Soup Company as a millwright for over 40 years. In December 1988, he received the Award of Excellence for designing a spring locator on Campbell’s syruper which prevented broth loss at the valve. The Campbell Soup Company later patented his design.
In his spare time, Jim had a passion for woodworking, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family at his shore house in Wildwood Crest, NJ. In his younger years, he loved to spend time on the water on his boats.
Jim will be sorely missed by his family and friends. He will live on in the hearts of everyone who loved him.
