Veronica Theresa Pipas

Veronica (Bonnie) T. Pipas, age 88 of Glen Mills, PA and Pensacola, FL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 18, 2023.  She was born on July 24, 1934, in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of the late William and Charlotte Walther of southwest Philadelphia.  She was a graduate of John Bartram High School, class of 1952.

Bonnie loved cooking, music, reading, Mardi Gras parades, beautiful southern beaches, and traveling the world where she immersed herself in different cultures.  She not only lived many years in Alabama and Florida, but also lived two years in Taiwan where she volunteered her time teaching English to Taiwanese children while her husband, George Pipas, worked on the new Taiwan High Speed Rail system.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, George Pipas, her sister, Geraldine White, and her grandson, Nicholas.

Bonnie is survived by three children, Robert Retzler (Betty Moran), Sherry Sharp, and Greg Retzler (Paula); four grandchildren, Natalie (Jeff), Nina, John (Amal), and Rachel (James); two great-granddaughters, Layla and Norah; and extended family members.

Bonnie’s family would like to thank the staff of Maris Grove and Willow Tree Hospice for the wonderful care they gave her.

Funeral services will be private.
