Thomas Boyd Wertz

Thomas Boyd “Tom” Wertz, of Downingtown, Pennsylvania, passed away on August 26, 2025, in West Chester, Pennsylvania. He was 65 years old.

Born on March 29, 1960, in Lewistown, Pennsylvania, Tom grew up in West Chester and graduated from Henderson High School. He went on to build a career as a skilled mechanic, dedicating his life to working with his hands and solving problems with precision and care.

Tom had a deep passion for drag racing and motorcycles. Whether he was tuning an engine or riding down the open road, he found joy and freedom in the roar of horsepower. His love for these pursuits was matched only by the time he spent with those closest to him—especially his son Tim and his many cherished friends.

He is survived by his son, Timothy Wertz; daughter-in-law, Nicole Wertz; and his brother, Fred Wertz. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Kathryn and Kenneth Wertz.

A man who valued loyalty and camaraderie, Tom built lasting friendships that spanned decades. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
