Thomas P. Dever, Sr.

Thomas P. Dever 73, of Kinzers, PA, formerly of Southwest Philadelphia, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family. Tom was the son of the late Cornelius “Connie” F. & Rita (Devenny) Dever Sr. He graduated from West Catholic High School (’68) and was a member of the 23rd Infantry Division during the Vietnam War. 

Tom worked for PECO/Exelon as a Meter Investigator and Energy Technician for nearly 40 years. Tom always greeted friends and strangers alike with a smile, a story, and, if you were lucky, a song. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and a good boxing match. Tom also enjoyed spending his summers down the shore in Wildwood, NJ. We could always count on Tom to spot dolphins in the surf and identify the military branch of the planes that flew over the water. 

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret A. “Peggy” Dever (Jones), with whom he shared 52 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his daughter Meghan R. Dever.  

He is survived by his son Thomas P. Dever, Jr, husband of Courtney; two daughters, Brianne T. Cramer wife of Matthew and Dianne M. Rapp wife of Ryan. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Tavish, Liam, Lucy, Marsali, and Phoebe. In addition, he is also survived by Regina “Jeannie” Dever, wife of the late Cornelius “Connie” F. Dever, Jr., Anne Egbert wife of William, and Margaret “Peggy” Gleeson wife of Terrence.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 22, 2023 at St. Bernadette of Lourdes Church, 1035 Turner Avenue, Drexel Hill, PA 19026 where friends may call 9:30 - 10:45 A.M. at the Church.  Interment Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA  19064.
