Suzanne Therese Wickersham, age 82, of Exton, Pennsylvania, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Chester County Hospital, West Chester, Pennsylvania. West Philadelphia born and raised, Suzanne was the daughter of the late George and Dorothy Behre Curry. She was a graduate of Transfiguration School and West Catholic Girls High School. She was one of seven siblings, pre-deceased by sisters Eileen Corrigan and Mary Lou Callahan, and brother George Curry. She is survived by sisters Barbara Pfister of Malvern and Donna Curry Burke of Glen Mills, and brother James Curry of Philadelphia. Suzanne was a Philly girl through and through, dancing on the original American Bandstand, working at Horn & Hardart’s, and marrying a Villanova man.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Suzanne is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dick Wickersham; two children, a son, Frank Wickersham and his wife Brenda of Chester Springs, Pennsylvania and a daughter, Eileen Wieber, and her husband Paul, of Pottstown, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Suzanne cherished her children and grandchildren, and loved cheering them on in everything they did, even if it involved a practical joke being played on her. When not riding the waves on her raft in Sea Isle City, New Jersey during the summer months, she enjoyed painting and writing poetry. Most of all, she enjoyed bringing a smile to patients at local hospitals as “Dr. Have A. Heart,” one of the Bumper “T” Caring Clowns. She truly believed that laughter was the best medicine, and used her humor and compassion to love people and make them feel better.
Suzanne’s life and legacy will be celebrated on September 23rd at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Chester Springs, PA, with visitation at 10:00 AM and Mass at 11:00 AM, followed by internment at St. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Springfield, PA.
