Susan Tait Obituary

Susan Tait, a beloved mom, mom-mom, great-grandmom, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 75 on June 20, 2025, surrounded by the people who loved her most.

Susan was born on August 15, 1949, to Frederick and Marion Miller (Parkinson), and grew up in a big and busy household full of love, laughter, and a whole lot of siblings. From the start, she was the kind of person who took care of everyone around her—and she never stopped.

She met the love of her life, Harry Michael Tait, and together they built a life full of love, laughter, and a whole lot of chaos thanks to their five kids: the late John, Suzanne (John Scola), Marie (Thomas Glacken), the late Harry, and the late Patricia. She was so proud of them, and even more proud to become Mom-Mom to her 15 grandkids: Michael, Drew, John “Bubba”, John, Shannon, Jordan, Hailee, Michael, Connor, Alexis, Miranda, Devan, Amiah, Harry, and Nadia. And her heart just kept growing when she became a great-grandmom to Brielle, Harper, Joe, Ada, and Mila.

Family was everything to Susan. Her home was always open—whether you needed advice, a home-cooked meal, or a shoulder to cry on. She had a way of making everyone feel taken care of, and she never let life’s challenges stop her from showing up for the people she loved.

She was a proud sister to the late Freddy, Joan, the late Mary, the late Jimmy, the late Marion “Sissy”, the late Billy, George, and Anna. The stories, the laughs, and the love they all shared are part of the legacy she leaves behind.

Anyone who knew Susan knew how strong she was. Life threw her more than her fair share of challenges, but she handled everything with grace, humor, and love.

She taught us what it means to be there for each other—to show up and to love hard. Her legacy lives on in every one of us.

Family and friends will gather at Our House Ministries, 1441 S 29th St, Philadelphia, PA 19146 on Monday, June 30th, 2025 from 9:30 to 10:15am.

Susan's life will be commemorated in a private ceremony, where her family will gather to honor her memory and the immeasurable impact she had on all who were fortunate enough to know her. While we already miss her more than words can say, we’re grateful for the years of love, laughter, and memories she gave us. She may not be here in person anymore, but she’ll always be with us—in our stories, in our laughter, and in the love we share with each other.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our House Ministries, 1441 S 29th St., Philadelphia, PA 19146
