Samuel Albert Rowe, known affectionately as Sam to his friends and family, left this world unexpectedly on July 21, 2025, in Glenolden, where he had made his home. Born on December 17, 1960, in Sharon Hill, Sam was a man whose warmth and creativity touched many lives.
Sam was a proud graduate of Sharon Hill High School, where he first discovered his passion for music. This passion would become a defining thread throughout his life. Sam's love for the bass guitar led him to be a member of various bands, most notably the Extremes, where he earned the nickname “Extreme Sam” for his energetic performances and infectious enthusiasm.
In the realm of work, Sam was known for his dedication and work ethic at a local trucking company. His colleagues respected him for his reliability and friendly demeanor, making him a valued member of the team.
Sam's life was enriched by his beloved family. He was the cherished son of the late Samuel and Lois (Netherly) Rowe and a loving brother to Judy Boyd and the late Joseph and Bobby Rowe and Nancy Barrett. He found joy and companionship in his marriage to Victoria A. (Dampman) Rowe, whom he married on September 6, 2014. Together, they created a blended family that was a source of immense pride for Sam.
He is survived by his son, Samuel Rowe, and his wife, Christina, and a doting grandfather to their two children, Stephen and Mackenzie. Sam also embraced his role as a stepfather to David Cherubini and his wife, Kim, and their three children, David, Brianna, and Carter, as well as to Lauren Flick and her husband, Richard, and their four children, Dominic, Manny, Raelynn, and Bella. He cherished the moments spent with his stepchildren and grandchildren, filling their lives with love, music, and laughter.
Sam's extended family included his in-laws, David and Mary (DeCurtis) Dampman, and his brothers-in-law, David and the late Steven Dampman. His family circle was completed by his niece, Melissa Boyd, nephew, Michael Boyd and his late brother Joseph's children, Joey and Amy Rowe.
Those who knew Sam will remember him for his loving nature, friendly smile, and creative spirit. His fascination with jazz music and his involvement in the local music scene were hallmarks of his personality. Sam was a man who lived life to the fullest, sharing his talents and joy with everyone around him.
