Rudolph Wolanin Obituary

Rudolph "Rudy" Wolanin, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, at Lankenau Medical Center in Penn Wynne, Pennsylvania. Born on November 16, 1933, in Humniska, Brzozów  Poland, to John and Victoria (Owsiany) Wolanin, Rudy was a man whose life was marked by dedication, athleticism, and a faith-filled spirit that uplifted all who knew him.

Rudy grew up with a strong sense of family and community, a value that he carried with him throughout his life. At the age of 15, he emigrated from Poland to the United States, beginning a new chapter filled with opportunity and hard work. He proudly served his adopted country as a U.S. Army veteran. During his service, he was recognized for his exceptional skills in archery and rifle marksmanship, a testament to his focus and discipline.

Following his military service, Rudy embarked on a career that spanned over five decades. He was well-known and respected as the friendly and dependable shuttle/limousine driver at the Holiday Inn in Essington. His work was not just a job but an opportunity to connect with people from all walks of life, leaving a lasting impression on countless travelers with his warm smile and helpful nature.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Rudy was a man of many talents and interests. He was exceedingly handy, never shying away from a challenge. Whether it was scaling the roof to make repairs or finding a car to fix up and resell, Rudy approached every task with a can-do attitude and meticulous care. His love for sports was undeniable, as he enjoyed staying active by playing soccer, tennis, badminton, and basketball. His athleticism was a source of joy and inspiration to his family and friends.

Family was the cornerstone of Rudy's life. He is survived by his loving children, Suzanne Wolanin-Saifi and her husband, Marwan; Sandy Termini; and Denise DeCaro and her fiancé, George Fraley. Rudy was a doting grandfather to Gabrielle Saifi and her husband, Sage Rahm; Paige DeCaro; Austin Termini; Patrick DeCaro and his wife, Courtney; and Logan M. Termini, as well as a proud great-grandfather to Lucia Termini. He was predeceased by his grandson, the late Devon DeCaro. Rudy also leaves behind his dear sister, Josephine Szczerba, and was preceded in death by his brother, Emil Wolanin.

Rudy could often be found attending his grandkids’ sporting events, graduations, choral recitals, and birthday parties. He would also share his love for Poland with them including its beauty and nature as well as his favorite folk tales.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation for Rudy on Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 9:00am to 10:45am in St. Margaret of Antioch Church, 208 N. Narberth Ave, Narberth, PA 19072.
