Rosemary (nee Mooney) Snyder, daughter of the late Margaret and Daniel Mooney of Philadelphia, PA, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025, with her family at her bedside. Born on July 26, 1951, in the Schuylkill section of Philadelphia, Rosemary grew up deeply connected to her community where she built many lifelong friendships.
Rosemary raised her children and lived for many years in the Grey’s Ferry section of Philadelphia, where she was warmly known and loved. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter Jillian Snyder, her son Ryan Snyder, and her grandchildren Kai and Camryn, who brought endless joy to her life. She is also survived by her four sisters—Marie (the late Fran) McIntyre, Betsy Maher, Joan Mooney, and Terri (Kevin) Cassidy—with whom she shared a strong and enduring bond. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews who adored her.
Rosemary is further survived by her longtime partner John Vaccara, whose companionship and care enriched her life, and by her beloved dog, Girl, who was always by her side.
A woman of kindness and simple joys, Rosemary had a strong love of reading, and also spending time with her family, shopping, watching horse racing and Hallmark movies. She will be remembered for her strong and determined personality, humor, and unwavering love for those who meant the most to her.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at St. Gabriel Church, 2917 Dickenson Street, Philadelphia, PA 19146.
A viewing will take place on Saturday December 6th from 9:30–10:45 AM prior to mass at St. Gabriel Church. followed by funeral mass.
Burial will be held privately.
Rosemary will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
