Rose Marie "Marie" (Rogers) Smith

Rose Marie "Marie" (nee Rogers) Smith passed away peacefully on the 9th of September, 2019. Marie was born on the 13th of June, 1939 in the Lutheran Hospital of Manhattan, NY to loving parents Bernard (Brian) and Mary "Mae" Rogers. Marie graduated from Mother Cabrini High School in Washington Heights Neighborhood of Upper Manhattan, New York City. Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial service at 10:00 A.M on Saturday, September 14th at St. Peters the Apostle Parish Church at 445 Fifth Avenue, River Edge, NJ 07661.

Marie was the loving and proud mother of her late son Kevin Smith, beloved wife of her late husband Charles Smith, and the proud older sister of the late Bernadette Maldarelli. She is survived by her daughter Dawn Wagner and her son in-law Craig Wagner of Downingtown PA, her older son Brian Smith and her daughter in-law Nami Smith of Glen Rock NJ, youngest son Brendan Smith  and her daughter in-law Winnie Smith of Atlanta GA, and her niece Barbara Van Norden and son in-law Bryan Van Norden of Pearl River NY. She was also a devoted grandmother to 8 amazing grandchildren: Kevin Wagner, Ryan Wagner, Mathew Wagner, Shauna Wagner, Kira Smith, Kaden Smith, Barrett Smith and Winston Smith. In addition to being a selfless caregiver to her family, Marie also became a Respiratory Therapist in her 40’s so she could spread her love and compassion to others that needed it as well.
