Ronald Zytkowicz Obituary

Ronald M. Zytkowicz, affectionately known as Ron to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025, in West Chester, Pennsylvania, at the age of 78. Born on June 21, 1946, in Somerville, New Jersey, Ron was a man of compassion, dedication, and creativity, whose warmth and generosity touched the lives of all who knew him.

Ron's lifelong commitment to education was evident in his 30 years of service as a special education teacher in the Chester Upland School District. His passion for helping others extended beyond the classroom, as he also successfully ran a carpentry business, demonstrating his remarkable work ethic and diverse talents. Ron's care and support for his students were as solid and reliable as the structures he built with his hands.

In his personal life, Ron cherished the bond of family above all else. He is survived by his loving wife, Priscilla Pennington Zytkowicz, with whom he shared a deep and enduring partnership. His legacy of love and wisdom lives on through his sons, Matthew (Patricia) and Steven (Victoria) Zytkowicz; his stepdaughter, Sara Meyer (Joseph); and his beloved grandchildren, Daniel, Nora, and Maximilian. Each of them carries a piece of Ron's spirit and teachings, ensuring that his memory will continue to guide and inspire future generations.

Ron's academic journey was marked by his time at Alliance College, where he not only pursued higher education but also forged lifelong friendships as a proud member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. His college years laid the foundation for a life of learning and camaraderie that Ron would carry with him throughout his days.

In his later years, Ron discovered a new passion that allowed him to capture the beauty of the world through a lens. He became an award-winning photographer, renowned in the Ocean City, Maryland area for his stunning photographs of the wild horses on Assateague Island. His artistry and ability to connect with nature brought joy to many and earned him recognition and admiration from both peers and enthusiasts.

Ron's life was a testament to the idea that one person can indeed make a significant impact on the world. Through his dedication to teaching, his craftsmanship, and his artistic vision, he enriched the lives of countless individuals. His warm smile, kind heart, and the laughter he shared will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.

As we say farewell to Ronald M. Zytkowicz, we celebrate a life lived to its fullest, marked by love, service, and beauty.
