Robert W. "Bob" Curtius

Robert W. Curtius, age 82, of Drexel Hill Pa. passed on Saturday January 10th, 2026. He was born on May 15th, 1943 in Philadelphia, Pa to Erma and Albert Curtius. 

Robert Curtius, “Bob”,  graduated  from John Bartram High School in 1961. After serving in the Marine Corps, he started working at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard as a boilermaker apprentice. He went on to become a boilermaker while he was attending evening classes at Drexel University. He was awarded several letters of commendation from his superiors and awards for excellent work. After graduating with a Business Management degree, he was charged with negotiating contracts for overhauling ships. 

He was loving and giving to his wife, his three children, and all who knew him. He was everyone’s handyman and mechanic.  He enjoyed camping with his family for many years, and he especially loved the beach in Cape May.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Kathy Curtius (Relitch), his children, Dean, Matthew, (wife, Gina Triplett), Lindsay Hess (Curtius), (husband, Sean Hess), his loving grandchildren, Juniper and Levi, his dog, Buddy, his brother Albert Curtius (wife, Rita Curtius), his sisters Erma McEwen (Curtius), (husband, Jack McEwen), and  Mary McCoskey (Curtius), (husband, Joe McCoskey), and all of his nieces and nephew.

A Celebration of the Life of Robert (Bob) Curtius will be held at Bethany EPC church, 5 N. Concord Ave., Havertown, PA on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations to honor his life can be made to Bethany EPC, 5 N. Concord Ave., Havertown, PA 19083
