Robert Franklin Rich, affectionately known as “Bob,” passed away peacefully of natural causes in the late hours of July 1, 2025, with family by his side. Born August 23, 1948, to Henry and Doris Rich (née Mason), Bob was a lifelong resident of Broomall, Pennsylvania.
For over five decades, he was a dedicated volunteer firefighter and fixture at the Broomall Fire Department. In the 1970s and 1980s, Bob also served as a certified EMT and ambulance corps member, providing comfort and care to members of the community as well as those with whom he served alongside.
A history enthusiast, Bob had a special fascination with the Titanic and the American Civil War, and he loved sharing stories and bad jokes with friends and family. He was also a devoted fan of classic television, always ready with a favorite episode to share.
Bob’s gentle nature, easy smile, and eager wit made him a notable presence in the lives of all who knew him. He is survived by his brother, Walter Rich, and his niece, Jocelyn Rich-Pendracki.
Bob’s legacy of kindness, humor, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, July 12th, 2025 from 12 to 1pm. Memorial Service will begin in the funeral home at 1PM
