Robert F Kane, Jr., a resident of Spring City, Pennsylvania, formerly of Pleasant View, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2023, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born in Philadelphia on August 28, 1959, to the late Robert Francis Kane and Dorothy Donahue Kane, and he grew up in Overbrook and Narberth as the third of nine children. Bob was a graduate of Archbishop John Carroll and Wheeling University.
Bob was the devoted father of Robert F Kane, III (Tracey) and Jaclyn C Kane (Erin). He was a beloved brother to Christine Brown (Jim), Cheryl Kane, William (Trishie), Patricia Blevins, Eileen Rodgers (Jim), Tracy Gabor (Pat), Thomas (Terri Ann), and Nancy Mitchell (Bob). Bob is also survived by 25 nephews and nieces, as well as 7 grandnephews and grandnieces, and countless friends who will miss him dearly.
A proud Veteran of the United States Army, Bob served in the Criminal Investigation Division and had the honor of being personal protection for the Secretary of Defense under President Ronald Reagan, Caspar Weinberger. When asked if he would do it all over again, Bob's answer was an unequivocal "in a heartbeat." He went on to enjoy a successful 35-year career in the packaging industry.
Bob was known for being the life of the party and had a knack for enjoying a good Bourbon with both old and new friends. He was also an avid Golfer and never missed a chance to claim that he was, and forever would be, the champion over his brothers Bill and Tom. Bob was the originator of the term "phone-a-friend," which he used to maintain rich and lasting friendships with those he met throughout his life, whether they were from grade school, high school, or college.
Above all, Bob was a true family man and cherished his role as the Patriarch of the Kane family. He held deep and meaningful relationships with his siblings, cousins, and all his nephews and nieces. His boundless and quiet generosity touched the lives of many, even though few were aware of it.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Funeral Mass to celebrate Bob's life 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 2, 2023 at St. Margaret of Antioch Church, 208 N. Narberth Ave, Narberth, PA 19072 where friends may call 9:30-10:45 AM at the Church also. Interment immediately following at Calvary Cemetery, Conshohocken, PA 19428.
