Robert “Bob” S. Harrington, 81, of Drexel Hill, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Little Flower Manor in Darby. He was the devoted husband of the late Pauline “Paula” (DePasquale) Harrington, who passed away on October 30, 2018. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Robert S. and Mildred (O’Malley) Harrington. Bob earned his associate degree from Delaware County Community College and later attended Temple University, where he studied Business Administration. In 1965, he enlisted with the United States Army and was an airplane mechanic during his tenure and after his active duty he joined the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. From 1976 until 1995, he owned and operated Harrington Construction and Design. Bob instilled in his family the importance of education, hard work, and commitment—values he lived by every day. He faced his final battle with brain and lung cancer with the same courage and determination that defined his life. Before he became a boat owner, Bob enjoyed many summers vacationing with his family in Wildwood and Sea Isle City, New Jersey, where they made lasting memories together. For over 30 years, Bob and Paula cherished summers on their boat at Great Oaks Marina in Maryland. Together, they enjoyed golfing, gatherings on C-Doc, and watching the boats come into Fairlee Creek. Bob also treasured simple pleasures: sharing meals with his family, shopping at Costco, and savoring favorite foods. He especially loved breakfast at the Court Diner in Media—scrapple, potatoes, and two eggs over easy—and never passed up Costco’s famous $1.50 hot dog and soda combo or his daughter’s delicious brownies. Bob is lovingly remembered by his son Gregory, husband of Becky, and his daughter Lisa, wife of Jason. He was a proud grandfather to Melissa, Sarah, Christian, Alex, Allison, and Matthew and great-grandfather to James and Giavanna Antista and Riley and Lily Shafer. Family and friends are invited to the visitation on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM, all at Logan-Videon Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Inc., 2001 Sproul Road, Broomall, PA 19008. The memorial service will also be livestreamed here.
