Richard Pusey Obituary

Richard F. Pusey, Sr., West Chester, PA, died on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at home.  He was 90 years old.

Dick was the loving husband of Joan (Ryan) Pusey.  The couple shared 67 wonderful years together.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Dick was the son of the late James and Ruth (Finley) Pusey.    He is predeceased by his siblings, James (Bob) Pusey and Ruth MacCausland and his grandson, Matthew Pusey.

Dick attended Upper Darby High School and was a member of the Class of 1952.

Upon graduating from high school, he started working for the Bell System in 1952 as a lineman.    After 36 years, he retired from AT&T as a District Director.   Bell gave him lifelong memories and friends that he cherished.

Dick served in the Air Force National Guard for 38 years reaching rank of Senior Master Sergeant, reflecting his commitment to his country.

During retirement, he worked for the Upper Darby Telco Credit Union and held a seat on the board of directors.   Support of the credit union was important to Dick because he believed credit unions were an important option in helping others with their financial needs.

He was known for his athleticism and passion for golf and bowling, as well as do-it-yourself projects and carpentry around the house.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four sons: Richard Pusey Jr (Renee), James Pusey (Tracie), Dennis Pusey, and Robert Pusey (Tracey).   He was loved by his grandchildren: DJ, Nichole Quaile and husband Troy, Shane and his wife Taylor, Tyler, Robbie, Brendan, Lexi, Grant, Owen, and Rachel.  He recently became the great-grandfather of Bryson Quaile.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Friday, May 16, 2025, at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, West Chester, PA, from 10:00 until the start of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am.  His interment will take place privately at a later date.
