Phoun Ea, of South Philadelphia, passed away on June 21, 2021 at Kindred Hospital in Havertown, Pennsylvania after a long hospitalization since the beginning of the year. She was the beloved wife of Chhorn Ea, devoted mother of Pa Bun (Julie) of Perkasie, PA. Phoun was the daughter of the late Hin Tan and his dear wife Horn Rem of Quebec, Canada. In addition to her husband and son, she is survived by two adored grandchildren, her brother Keat (Daravy), sister Phiv, sister Pheat, and also a pre-deceased sister Chivy as well as many nieces and nephews.
Phoun emigrated from Cambodia with her husband and son in 1975, fleeing the war and traveled to a refugee camp in Arkansas. Through a sponsorship from Middletown Presbyterian Church the family moved to Media, PA. They established their family in Delaware County until 1997 when they relocated to South Philadelphia where she called the city her home.
Phoun’s greatest joy was to spend time with her family & friends and traveling to Quebec, Canada to visit her beloved family members. She was known for her love of cooking traditional Cambodian dishes to delight friends and family and sewing.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service at the Logan Funeral Home, located at 57 South Eagle Road, Havertown, Pennsylvania on Sunday, June 27, at 11:00a.m. with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m.
