Peter J. Ludwig, 93, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025, at Bellingham Senior Living in West Chester, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late John and Caroline (nee Sipp) Ludwig. He was born Peter Laskowski on September 20, 1932 in Bucks County Pennsylvania. His mother died during childbirth and he was raised in Philadelphia, along with his sisters Carol and Annette, by his aunt and uncle, John and Caroline Ludwig.
Peter grew up in Philadelphia and was a graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. He married Lillian Lambert in November 1956 and they had five daughters: Patricia Ludwig-Hausner (Brian), Lori Mahan (James deceased), Linda Holtzman (Marc deceased), MaryAnn Ludwig (Teresa Urick) and Cheryl Gretzula (Edward).
Peter enjoyed a successful career as an electrical engineer at RCA and later General Electric, including development of the US Space Program. Upon retiring from GE, Peter moved to Sparta Georgia and built a home with his companion Laura Ashton. Peter and Laura moved to Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia in the early 2000's where he proudly served as a volunteer fireman.
Peter is preceded in death by his wife Lillian and long-time companion Laura Ashton. He is survived by his daughters, as well as his grandchildren Lauren Ludwig, James and Peter Mahan, Daniel and Kaitlyn Holtzman; Maxwell, Ethan and Alexander Gretzula.
