His favorite assignment was in Alaska, where he experienced the wilds of the state, from 6 foot snow falls, to free ranging moose, to the great adventure of salmon fishing in the Kenai Peninsula.
He earned a MS in marketing from Michigan State University. Returning to the New York area, Peter held several marketing related posts before meeting his wife Alice Coachman in the spring of 1967. After marrying in Yonkers, Pete and Alice lived for a few years in his family home with his father, where they had their first son Peter. A few years later, they moved to Basking Ridge, NJ where they had two more sons, Carl and Raphael. Peter relocated his family for 4 years to Raleigh, NC where Peter did marketing work for some tobacco companies. Peter and Alice moved their family to the Philadelphia area in late 1977, when Peter found work in corporate marketing and sales promotion. Within a year of arriving, Peter and Alice had their 4th son Phillip. By the time his final son Eric was born in 1982, Peter was now working again in New York City, this time commuting from Philly daily.
Later Peter began doing marketing work with a partner as well as consulting on his own. In the early 90’s he taught Marketing courses at La Salle University as an adjunct professor, he was loved by his students, including many international. Well into his 60’s Peter also liked to keep a hand in the family landscaping business started by his sons, not just as an advisor but also as a worker.
Peter was known to be very gregarious, he loved people and was able to connect with many. He sought opportunities to engage, including with people he did not know well. He loved flying and got his private pilot's license. He enjoyed hunting and nature. He was handy and usually took on many repair projects on cars or the house learning how to do them as he went.
Peter and his wife were very frugal and saved enough money to put their 5 sons through college. Peter was a devoted family man and he will be very much missed.
