Pepina Mangos Obituary

Pepina Mangos, born on December 1, 1926, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Spiros and Mary (Pandeleon) Angelos, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2024, in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania. She was a beacon of love and generosity, touching the lives of everyone she encountered with her selfless nature.

Pepina graduated from West Philadelphia High School, where she was known for her bright mind and kind spirit. After her education, she worked at Provident Mutual for five years, where she was respected for her professionalism and warmth. She left her position to embrace the role she cherished most, that of wife and mother, dedicating her life to raising her children and supporting her family.

She shared a beautiful and loving marriage with her late husband, Theodore Mangos. Together, they raised a family of three children who filled their lives with joy and purpose: Stacey Morettini and her husband, Dominic; James Mangos and his wife, Regina; and Maria Klang and her husband, Jeffrey. Her legacy continued to flourish through her adored grandchildren, Matthew and his wife, Meghan; Andrew and his wife, Brie; Evan and his fiancee, Kristina Colsten; Julee and her husband, Andrew; Diana; Gregory and his wife, Kathleen; Theodore; Kiersten; and Laura. The joy of her life extended to her great-grandchildren, Ali, Bradley, Chase, twins Sean and Finley, Morgan, Brian, Anthony, Isabella, and Maci, who will cherish memories of her boundless love and the stories she shared.

Pepina's siblings, the late Georgia (Angelos) Laynas and her husband, John, the late Ernest Angelos and his wife, "Billie" Stella, and the late John Angelos and his wife, Helen (surviving), remember her as a loving sister, always there to listen, to help, and to guide with gentle wisdom.

Her faith was a cornerstone of her existence. Pepina was a devout member of St. Demetrius Greek Orthodox Church in West Philadelphia and later of St. Luke Greek Orthodox Church in Broomall. Her involvement with the church was deep and fulfilling; she served in the Ladies Auxiliary at St. Luke Greek Orthodox Church and was an active member of the Daughter’s of Penelope. Her commitment to her Greek community and church was unwavering, and she inspired many through her dedication.

Pepina's passions and hobbies were a testament to her zest for life and her deep affection for others. A dedicated bridge player, she relished the strategy and camaraderie of the game, often hosting bridge luncheons that became cherished gatherings for family and friends, filled with laughter and warmth. In addition to her love for the game, Pepina found joy in knitting, creating beautiful baby sweaters, hats, and blankets, which she lovingly crafted for those dear to her. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who were touched by her kindness and her vibrant spirit.

Those who knew Pepina will remember her as the embodiment of love, generosity, and selflessness. Her presence was a comfort, and her actions were always in service to others. She had the unique ability to make every person feel special and loved, a gift that will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Pepina Mangos lived a full and beautiful life, marked by her dedication to her family, her faith, and her community. Her spirit will continue to live on through the many lives she touched and the loving family she leaves behind. Pepina's passing is not only a loss but also a celebration of a life well-lived, a life that will continue to inspire and guide us in the years to come. She will be deeply missed, but the legacy of her love and the memories she created will forever be a part of us.
