Osvaldo A. Cifoni, a resident of St. Monica’s Nursing Home in South Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026.
Born in Italy, Dr. Cifoni carried with him a deep appreciation for knowledge, culture, and the arts throughout his life. He was a devoted husband to Maria T. (Rossetti) Cifoni and a loving father to Joseph Cifoni.
Dr. Cifoni dedicated much of his life to education as a professor, where he taught Social Economics, Mathematics, and 5 different languages. He was known as a deeply knowledgeable man who valued learning and sharing ideas with others.
Beyond the classroom, he was a talented musician who enjoyed playing the piano. Those who knew him remember him as an altruistic and thoughtful person who quietly gave of himself to others, often without seeking recognition or praise.
A devoted family man, he was a good husband and father whose presence and guidance will be deeply missed. Throughout his life he also showed remarkable strength and resilience, facing health challenges with determination and courage. He remained a fighter and a trooper, staying strong until the very end.
His life will be remembered with love and gratitude by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
