Nicholas J. Fidanza (Nick), 82, joined his beloved wife, Bernadette (Bernie), in Eternal Rest on January 2, 2025. He is survived by his daughter, the Rev. Christina M. Fidanza of Hummelstown, PA, and his sister, Natalina Fidanza, of Italy.
Nick began life traumatically, with his mother dying in childbirth. At age 10, Nick traveled to the United States along with a plane full of Italian children who were orphaned in WW2. He was placed with an aunt and uncle who lived in the United States already. At age 18, Nick proudly became an American citizen.
Nick’s first job was as a paperboy for the Philadelphia Bulletin newspaper. He went on to become a mechanic after graduating from Lower Merion High School. Not long after graduating, he married his childhood sweetheart, Bernadette Anne Repici. He returned to work for the newspaper as a District Manager. Nick’s career life took a major turn in 1979 with the purchase of a rural corner store in East Fallowfield Township. Nick and Bernie ran a successful grocery/deli business for over 10 years, choosing to close so that they could pursue new career opportunities. For Nick, that meant going on to run the deli/hot foods department of the Guinta’s “little store.” His first attempt at retirement was from the Guinta Supermarket. But Nick was a workaholic, and soon went to work in maintenance for the Morelli Rental Corp., where he continued to work until having a heart attack 3 years ago.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Monday,
January 27th at 10:30 AM at Sts. Phillip & James Church (107 N Ship Rd, Exton, PA 19341). Visitation prior to mass starting at 9:30 AM.
Internment at Philadelphia Memorial Park.
Because Nick did not like cut flowers, donations may be sent to Church of the Redeemer, 500 West Chocolate Avenue, Hershey, PA. 17033.
