Nancy J. Carmichael

Nancy went home to the Lord on January 25,2025 at age 85 just a few days shy of her 86th birthday. She was born in Philadelphia on January 30,1939 to Wilma Marion (Wells) and Ellwood Theodore Maull, Jr. She grew up in Upper Darby and graduated from Upper Darby High School at the top of her class. Nancy went onto a career at PSFS bank. Wedding bells chimed when she married her sweetheart Frederick Mitchell Stover on November 1,1958. Tragedy struck when Fred died suddenly.

As fate would have it, she met a charming gentleman at the mailbox near her home in Secane, Pa. He swept her off her feet and she married Robert L. Carmichael on December 12,1969 then moved to Broomall, Pa.  

You could always find Nancy serving the church in some way whether it was using her accounting skills as church treasurer, working at the strawberry festival, or teaching vacation bible school. She stayed fit by bowling, doing aerobics, and enjoying some country line dancing with her lifelong friend Peggy. She tapped into her artsy side by doing calligraphy and collecting Byers Choice Caroler figurines and creating beautiful displays with them.

This busy lady always had time to babysit her nine grandchildren and rescue an animal in need. She had many dogs and cats. In fact, at her retirement community, Nancy was a member of the pet club and would do pet therapy with her beagle Betty. She and Bob enjoyed traveling to Europe, Hawaii, and Alaska, but their favorite vacations were spent with the family in Sea Isle City, NJ.

Nancy is survived by her three children and their spouses, Jill (Robert}, Julie (Kevin), and Adam (Laura), and her nine grandchildren.

Friends and Relatives may call on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel at Maris Grove in Glen Mills, Pa. Her Celebration of Life Service will follow at 12:00 PM.
