Mudite Jansons (née Kisis), age 87, a longtime resident of Malvern, PA, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Mudite was predeceased by her husband, Juris Jansons, and is survived by her sons, Erik (Sandra) and Maris (Sonja); and her grandchildren; Nils, Mara, Roberts and David. Mudite was born in Riga, Latvia in 1938 and emigrated to the United States with her family in the aftermath of World War II. Mudite lived in Lancaster, PA until moving to Philadelphia to attend the University of Pennsylvania where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and went on to work for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Bureau of Laboratories until her retirement. Mudite met her husband, Juris, while she was attending college and they were married in 1961 in Philadelphia. Mudite and Juris lived in Rydal, PA raising their two sons, and eventually moved to Malvern, PA. Mudite enjoyed traveling (including numerous trips to her homeland of Latvia), and was a devoted member of her church, the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. John in Newtown Square, PA.
