Michael J. Ryan, 66, of Malvern, PA, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, on Monday, May 11, 2026. He was the loving husband of Claire (Cain) Ryan and the devoted, amazing father of Taylor and Kristen Ryan. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of Andrew Kemper Ryan and Mary Katherine (Fogarty) Ryan. Michael was a proud graduate of Villanova University, graduating with a BS in Business Administration. He went on to become a financial advisor for over 40 years. He loved his job and found so much joy in helping many clients over the years plan for their retirement. In addition to his wife and daughters, Michael is survived by his sister, Mary Katherine (Ryan) Stuhldreher, and brother, Kemper Ryan, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and father. He will be remembered for his love of basketball (especially the Villanova and 76ers basketball teams), the Philadelphia Eagles, chocolate chip cookies, and his grand-puppy, Rory. Michael had the best, quick-witted, one-of-a kind sense of humor, and a kind, caring, spirit that made everyone he was with feel special. He will also be fondly remembered as Taylor, Kristen, and many of their friend’s childhood basketball coach; he loved coaching the girls and getting to share his love of basketball with Taylor, Kristen, and their friends. Most importantly, he will be remembered for being the most incredible and loving husband and father. He will be deeply missed by all the lives he was able to touch over the years. The following celebrations will take place to honor the beloved person he was: Visitation with family and friends will be held from 10:00AM-12:00 PM with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 12:00 PM on Friday, May 22, 2026, all to be held at St. Patrick’s Church, 104 Channing Ave., Malvern, PA 19355.
