Maureen A. Samuels, a treasured soul whose kindness and courage brightened the lives of those around her, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025, in Collingdale, PA. Born on April 2, 1951, in Philadelphia, PA, Maureen lived a life characterized by love, dedication, and joy. She was the beloved daughter of the late Lawrence and Catherine Trial, a loving sister, a devoted mother, and an adored Mom-Mom.
Maureen's early years in Philadelphia laid the foundation for a life full of learning and achievement. A proud graduate of the Class of 1969 at Archbishop Prendergast High School, she carried the lessons of her education throughout her life. Her strong work ethic led her to a fulfilling career at Sunoco Refinery in Marcus Hook, PA, where she dedicated many years of service before her well-deserved retirement.
Family was the cornerstone of Maureen's world. She was a loving sister to Carol Corvi (Joe) and the late Kathleen Darlington. As a mother, she was everything one could wish for, offering unwavering support and love to her daughters, Shannon Duckworth (Mark) and Kristin Samuels (Dyllan). The light of her life shone brightest when she was with her grandchildren, Donnie Myers, III, Rylee, and Ryder Schimpf, whom she "loved to the sky past heaven."
Maureen's nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, as she was a beloved Aunt to many nieces, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. Her presence in their lives was a source of joy and guidance, and her influence will continue to be felt for generations to come.
A woman of many interests, Maureen found her greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life. North Wildwood's sandy shores held a special place in her heart, as did any beach where she could soak up the sun and enjoy the sound of the waves. Her daughters and family were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Maureen's favorite pastime included weekends away with her lifelong girlfriends, where laughter and camaraderie were always in abundance.
Maureen's warm heart and smile were her trademarks, and she had the remarkable ability to touch the lives of everyone she came into contact with. Her legacy is one of love and kindness, a testament to the life she led and the hearts she touched.
