Mary Patricia Anne (Naughton) Mazda

Mary Patricia Anne (Naughton) Mazda, born May 2, 1961,  passed away on April 24, 2021 at the age of  59.  She resided in West Chester, PA with her husband of 30 years, Russ Mazda.  She passed away at home with her loving family by her side.

She grew up in Havertown, Delaware County, attending Archbishop Prendergast High School.  She began her working career as a Dental Technician but was drawn to a profession where she could help people more so she obtained her Bachelor of Nursing degree from Villanova University.  After 6 years of an emergency medicine nursing experience, she wanted a profession that would allow her to help people on a more emotional and spiritual level so she attended Bryn Mawr College for her Master’s Degree in Social Sciences after which she had a successful psychotherapy practice.  She found success and satisfaction with her work because she cared about her clients and their problems.  She was sympathetic and empathetic which could be sensed and appreciated by her clients.  Her own broad experiences greatly aided her in her work.

Mary Pat loved beauty and surrounded herself in a wonderfully decorated home and office, flowers always present.  Her appearance was flawless, dressing fashionably and appropriately for any occasion.  She was acutely aware of proper etiquette.  She was fun and funny, silly and serious, elegant and down to Earth, upbeat with a positive outlook, always a pleasure to be around her.

She had an adventurous spirit which perfectly complemented her husband.  She learned to scuba dive, windsurf, shoot a gun, fly an airplane and loved long hikes, bicycle rides or walks on the beach with her husband.  Whether by airplane or bicycle, she was always ready to explore new places.

Her soaring spirit has sadly been cut short in this life.  We have faith that her spirit continues on in heaven. 

Mary Pat is survived by her husband, Russell Mazda; mother, Ann Naughton; sister, Anne Masotti; brother, James Naughton, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at SS Peter and Paul Church, 1325 Boot Road, West Chester, PA 19380.  Visitation from 9:30-10:45 a.m. will precede the Mass.  In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation, 308 E. Lancaster Ave., Suite #225, Wynnewood, PA 19096.
