Mary Jane (Crane) Killeen

Mary Jane (nee Crane) Killeen of Lower Gwynedd passed away peacefully on Friday, September 30, 2022 at Abington Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James Killeen.  She is survived by her daughter, Maureen Stanek (Gary) and her twin grandchildren, Erin and Brendan.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary (nee Durkin) and James Crane.

Mary Jane graduated from Gwynedd Mercy Academy in 1961.  After high school she began working in downtown Philadelphia.  She worked in town until she met and married her husband, Jim.  Later in life she also worked for Killeen's Tavern for many years until they closed.

Mary Jane enjoyed traveling to her home in the Poconos and also her favorite shore town, Avalon, NJ.  Family was everything to Mary Jane, her proudest title was being “Mom-Mom” to Erin and Brendan.  She loved watching Erin Irish Dance and loved going to as many competitions and performances as possible.  She also loved going to Brendan’s soccer games. Even if she couldn’t attend a competition or game, she always wanted an update, on how she did or what the score was, or if Brendan scored a goal.  Her grandchildren were everything, she was forever proud of them.

We will miss Mary Jane’s wit and all her stories of growing up in South Philly.  She was very proud of being a 3rd Streeter.

Per the family's request, services will be private.
