Mary Ellen (Morton) Schweizer

Mary Ellen Schweizer, lovingly known as Mary, of Nashua, NH and formerly of Broomall, PA, passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on May 16th, 2023 surrounded by her family. Born on July 17, 1927 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who touched the lives of many with her gentle and loving spirit. Mary lived a life full of love, kindness, and thoughtfulness, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Mary was the daughter of Sarah and George Morton and the beloved wife of the late Bill Schweizer Jr. who preceded her in death. Together they created a beautiful family and loving home. Mary was a devoted mother to her son, Bill Schweizer and his wife, Helen. She was also a loving mother to her late daughter, Ellen Schweizer.  Mary’s grandchildren, Katie and Sarah, brought immense pleasure and joy to her life.  Mary’s love also extended to her sister, Sadie and late husband Lou, their children and grandchildren, as well as Mary’s brother in law and sister in law, Alan and Peggy Schweizer and their children and grandchildren.

Mary's interests reflected her gentle nature and love for the simple pleasures in life. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, having created loving memories that will be cherished by them forever. As an avid reader, Mary found inspiration in the pages of countless books, which fueled her imagination and kept her mind sharp throughout her life.

As we remember Mary, let us celebrate her life by striving to embody the same loving, thoughtful, and gentle qualities that she so effortlessly displayed. In doing so, we honor her memory and ensure that her legacy of kindness and inspiration lives on in each of us.

Mary’s life has been a shining example for us all, and her memory will live on in the hearts and minds of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Rest in peace Mary, a remarkable woman who will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday, May 25th, 2023 from 10 to 11:00am in Logan-Videon Funeral Home, 2001 Sproul Rd., Broomall, PA 19008. The funeral service will in be in the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00am. Burial will follow services in Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill.
