Mary Malloy Obituary

Mary K. Malloy, a cherished matriarch and pillar of her community, passed away peacefully of natural causes on March 6, 2024, at the age of 94, in Yeadon, Pennsylvania. Born on May 4, 1929, in Dunnamore, Co. Tyrone, Mary was a beacon of love and faith throughout her life.Mary spent her formative years in the rolling green landscapes of Northern Ireland before emigrating to the United States in 1945, where she would go on to build a life rich in family, work, and service. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edward L. Malloy, and her son, Edward J. Malloy. Her legacy continues through her devoted sister, Lucy McFadden, and her loving children: Mary, Patricia, Martin, and Eileen, married to Ken. Mary's joy was multiplied by her ten grandchildren: Kelly, Kenny, Andrew, Katie, Damian, Maureen, Alekssandr, Brian, Melissa, and Jacob, and further enriched by the laughter of eight great-grandchildren: Kaiden, Jace, Remi, Harper, Logan, Ava, Emma and Sadie. 

A long-time employee in Corporate Services at Citizens Bank, Mary was respected for her professionalism and dedication. Her colleagues remember her as a steadfast and compassionate presence, always willing to lend a hand or offer a kind word. Mary was also an active member of her local church community, contributing her time and talents to keeping the church grounds beautiful. Her love for gardening was evident not only at home, where her garden was a vibrant display of her nurturing spirit, but also in the way she cared for the church's floral arrangements. 

Mary's interests extended beyond her professional and volunteer work. Her garden was her sanctuary, a place where she cultivated not just plants, but also joy and serenity for her family and friends. She was known to spend hours tending to her flowers, a testament to her patience and attention to detail. Mary also took great pride in helping to clean the church, ensuring it was as welcoming and pristine as her own home.Those who knew Mary would describe her as loving, faith-filled, and courageous. She faced life's challenges with a quiet strength and unwavering faith, inspiring those around her to do the same. Her warm smile and generous spirit will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. 

As we bid farewell to Mommy, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a legacy of love that will continue to blossom in the hearts of our family and community. Her spirit, characterized by devotion and grace, will remain a guiding light for generations to come. Mommy's life was a testament to the enduring power of love and faith, and she will be lovingly remembered for the comfort and happiness she brought to so many. A private funeral service will be held to honor the life and memory of Mary K. Malloy, where family and friends will gather to share stories, laughter, and tears, reminiscing about a life lived to the fullest. Mary's final resting place will be alongside her husband and son, where she will be laid to rest with the same peace and dignity that she carried throughout her life.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation at St. Louis Church, 821 W. Cobbs Creek Parkway, Yeadon, PA  19050 Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 9-11:00 A.M. followed by her funeral mass at 11:00 A.M.  Additional parking, driveway access behind the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Louis Church.
