Mary Larkin Obituary

Mary Theresa “Terri” Larkin

We are celebrating the life of Mary Theresa Larkin, known to all as Terri, who passed on Christmas morning.  Born on October 8, 1958, to A Charles and Geraldine Patricia (nee McCarthy) Larkin, Terri grew up in the Coopertown section of Haverford, Pennsylvania.  Terri was the fifth of six children, predeceased by Kathy, Tricia and Connie.  She is survived by Gerry and Charlie, as well as her loving partner Jay Lindecamp.  Bella, her canine daughter and her love, unfortunately predeceased her in recent months.

Terri was a graduate of Haverford High School, Class of 1977.  She started her career as a gifted restaurant associate, working the front of the house for the famous Chef Tell in Strafford, Pennsylvania, (which later became the Strafford Inn) and the Cayman Islands. Her work history also included The Mile Post Inn; The Guard House; Casey’s; and, The Eagle Tavern, among others.

Following a move to Berks County, Terri was employed for Graco Children’s Product from 1998 to 2008 as a Customer Service Representative and Traffic Clerk.  From 2008 until 2017, she was employed as a Traffic Coordinator at Spanco, Inc.

Terri maintained a huge circle of friends whom she loved to follow on Facebook.

She had a very special group of girlfriends whom she called “The Girls”, and they had many, many years and great memories of card games; parties; and, especially “The Girls’ Weekend” in Ocean City, New Jersey in October, her birthday month.  She also loved the Polar Bear Plunge in Sea Isle, New Jersey.

Terri loved to craft and was always looking for local craft shows to attend.  She was indeed quite crafty herself, always finding DIY projects and making homemade gifts and cards.

Being in the gourmet restaurant business, Terri loved good food and she loved to dine out, enjoying her favorites, Escargot, Oysters on the Half Shell, and Clams Casino when she could.

Terri enjoyed cooking and was a great cook herself.  She especially loved to cook all the holiday meals, learned from her family tradition.  She was always looking for new recipes to try and loved watching every cooking show channel.

Terri’s hobbies also involved motorcycling and attending car racing events with her friends.  She was an active member and volunteered at fund raising events at her local Legion and Sleepy Hollow Club.  She was also an avid fan and attended every Springsteen concert that came to the area.

With many travel adventures in her past, her most favorite she would say was her two-week driving tour of Ireland.  Terri was extremely proud of her Irish heritage, as told by the colors she wore and the twinkle in her eyes.

She was a giving, caring, generous, and fun-loving soul, who will be sorely missed by the many people she touched in life.  Her humor, kindness and selflessness will continue to inspire all those who were lucky enough to have known her and to be loved by her.

As her friends will attest at her memorial, greater than the sorrow from her death is the joy that she spread in her life.

Rest in peace Terri and may the road rise to meet you.
