Obituary

Mary Lynn Cosfol, a cherished sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully in Philadelphia, PA on August 12, 2023. Born on May 13, 1954, Mary Lynn was a beacon of warmth and positivity throughout her life, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.  

Raised by her late parents, Dan and Dora Cosfol, Mary Lynn grew up alongside her brothers, George and Peter Cosfol. She was predeceased by her beloved partner, Joseph Rokosky, and her older brother, George. Mary Lynn is survived by her brother Peter and his wife Regina, and her nieces Mallory Mastronardo (Matthew),  Amanda Gorski (Thomas), and Elizabeth Cosfol. She is also remembered by her Aunt Pauline Likos, numerous loving cousins and their children, as well as Joseph Rokosky's children and grandchildren.

Mary Lynn was a proud alumna of Indiana University of PA, where she graduated in 1976. Throughout her life, she held many jobs, and her final role was as a teacher in Philadelphia.  Beyond her professional life, Mary Lynn was involved in her community. She was a dedicated volunteer at the Upper Merion Area Community Cupboard, where she worked tirelessly to ensure her neighbors never went without. This work was a testament to her boundless compassion and her belief in the importance of community support.  Mary Lynn was a woman of many interests and a wide circle of friends.  She had a profound love for her family, cherishing the time she spent with her siblings, nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as Joseph Rokosky’s children and grandchildren.

Mary Lynn will be remembered as a woman who lived her life with kindness, and an unwavering generosity to others. Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched. Her family and friends will remember her for her uplifting spirit, her positivity, and her deep and abiding love for those around her. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A Memorial Service will be held at Logan-Videon Funeral Home, 2001 Sproul Road, Broomall, PA 19008, on Saturday, August 19, 2023.  Visiting starts at 10am with a prayer service to follow at 11am.
