Martha H. Kushner

Martha Kushner, 97, of Malvern, PA, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Paoli Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her children Edward Kushner (Gayle), Diane Kushner, Sandra Woods (Richard), David Kushner (Susan) and Michael Kushner (Rebecca), as well as her grandchildren Ryan Kushner (Karin), Carly Kushner, Mitchell Kushner (Heather), Amanda Kushner and Richard Stanley (Jamie) and great grandchildren Nathan Kushner, Zachary Kushner and Jackson Stanley. She is also survived by her sisters Mary Dvorak and Lubow Powers and her sister-in-law Marge Hladish.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Edward Kushner and son Paul Kushner, as well as her brothers John Hladish and Peter Hladish and sister Jean Durishin.

The daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Hladish, Martha was born in McAdoo, PA.  She graduated from Hazelton Senior High School.  As a young woman she worked for the Social Security Administration and later in life for National Liberty Insurance Company, in secretarial and data entry positions.

Martha was truly the heart of her home.  A hard worker, she was down-to-earth, and she loved gardening and sewing.  She was kind and compassionate and a great listener.  Her Catholic faith was at the center of her life.

She was a long-time member of SS Philip & James Parish, Exton, PA, volunteering with bingo, garden club, church cleaning and other activities.  She treasured the many wonderful friendships that she made at the church over the years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at SS Philip & James Church, Exton, PA from 9:30-11:00 AM, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SS Philip & James Parish, 107 N. Ship Rd., Exton, PA  19341, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or a charity of choice.
