Marjorie G. Ealer (nee Graves), passed away peacefully on May 27, 2022 at the age of 83. Born in Oak Park, Illinois, she was the daughter of Arthur and Alice Graves (McCracken). She was predeceased by her beloved husband of fifty-eight years, George Carleton Ealer Jr., and her daughters Ellen and Elizabeth. She was survived by her son Jeffrey (Debbie), four grandchildren, Christin, Jennifer, Andrew, and Luke, her sister Jane Brink, and two nieces and a nephew. She is also survived by her dear friend and her husband’s cousin, Jane Long and her daughter and two sons.
A graduate of Lower Merion High School (Class of 1957), Harcum Junior College (1960), and West Chester Teachers College (1963), she worked for several years at the Church of the Nazarene preschool and Chesterbrook Academy in West Chester. She loved using her background in elementary education, sharing life’s wonders and early moments with the young children in her care.
Together she and George raised their family in West Chester, PA, and moved to Maris Grove in Glen Mills after retirement. She attended Westminster Presbyterian Church in West Chester for many years. Marjorie enjoyed spending summers in Cape May, NJ, with her family in a house they owned in West Cape May. Among her favorite activities were knitting (creating sweaters, blankets, prayer shawls, and hats for her family and friends), caring for her basset hounds, Chester and Katie, playing games with her family, and connecting with her many friends over lunch.
Family and friends are invited to visitation at 10 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11 AM on Friday, June 24th, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 10 W. Pleasant Grove Road, West Chester 19382.
