On Monday, May 4, 2020, Marie Trimbur, loving mother and grandmother passed away at the age of 85.

Marie was born Marie Madeline Glatz on December 23, 1934 in Philadelphia, PA to William and Alberta Glatz. She married the love of her life, Ernest Trimbur on November 6, 1954. They raised two sons, Dennis (wife Belinda in Chester Springs, PA) and Donald (wife Caroline in Palo Alto, CA), and one daughter, Joan Larmore (husband Patrick in Flemington, NJ). She was a beloved grandmother to seven grandchildren. Her parents and four siblings, James, William, Joseph and John proceeded her in death.

Marie always had a zest for life and a sparkle that surrounded her. Her passion for nature and flowers found an outlet in her local gardening club, yearly Christmas wreaths and decorations for her family, friends and church. Sadly she lost Ernie in 1980, but didn't let that hold her back. She went back to school, completed college and launched a career as a librarian in Broward County Florida. Reading was another joy in her life, in particular mysteries. Sherlock Holmes was always her favorite, as well as some old-time radio shows like The Shadow.

She loved to laugh and have fun, especially with her grandchildren. Traveling often between Florida, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Arizona and California to be with them. She invented games, set off on new adventures, and always led the way, using her artistic and crafty talents to add to the fun.

She was caring and kind to everybody, and her positivity as well as her sense of humor stayed with her, even near the end of her life when she suffered from Alzheimer’s.

Her smile, laughter, and love will be treasured by her family forever.

Due to coronavirus restrictions the internment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association in Marie’s memory.
