Marie Louise Caron, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025, at the age of 90 in Yardley, PA. Born on December 14, 1934, in Lansdowne, PA, Marie was a beacon of love and generosity throughout her life, touching the hearts of all who knew her.
Marie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Adrien L. Caron, whom she met at a dance while he was stationed at the Philadelphia Naval Yard. Their love story was one for the ages, love at first sight, and they remained inseparable from that first dance to "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me". She was also preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Eleanor Hull, and her sisters Eleanor Snider and Catherine Carlson, both who lived into their 90's.
Marie's legacy continues through her loving family. She was the last in her generation.
She is survived by her children, Diane M. Almony, Paul M. Caron, Joseph L. (Carolyn) Caron, Elaine M. Caron, and Jeannine (Paul) Greco. Her grandchildren, Joseph (Meagan) Almony, Holly (Matthew) Siletzky, Joelle Caron Ensle, Jason (Alyson) Caron, Joan Caron, Nicole Turkel, Jonathan (Megan) Turkel, Paul (Holly) Greco, and Jessica Greco, will forever hold her memory dear. Her nieces were a special part of her life, and they often came to visit her over the years, and attended many family activities strengthening their family ties.
A proud graduate of Bartram High School, Marie's work ethic was evident from her early days. She began her career at Atlantic Refinery in Philadelphia, where her father worked as an Electrician. While there, she began her career delivering mail and everyone knew her in the building as "Joe's daughter", but she quickly climbed the ladder by securing a position as a secretary in one of the departments, where she met her lifelong best friend, Peggy Peters. After she was married and children came, Marie's fast and accurate typing skills, along with her experience working in the office, helped her to successfully assist in her husband's business, Al's Cleaning Services, preparing books and typing invoices. She was first and foremost a dedicated wife, mother of five, and homemaker, always ensuring the well-being of her family.
Marie's interests were as varied as they were passionate. She worked as a waitress at the Marriott on the Main Line, where she had the opportunity to meet some notable figures. Marie's love for cooking, sewing, crocheting, music, and arts and crafts filled her home with warmth and creativity. She was also an avid reader. She loved exploring new places, and absorbing knowledge from the History Channel and recounting details of the many books she read on World War II.
Above all, Marie cherished her family and dedicated herself to doing things for others. Her captivating smile, sparkling personality, and selfless nature are the traits that will be remembered most by those who had the privilege of knowing her. Marie lived a life that exemplified the values she instilled in her children and grandchildren—those of love, grace, respect, faith, generosity, and selflessness.
As we bid farewell to Marie, we celebrate a life lived with an open heart and a giving spirit. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us, and her influence will be felt for generations to come.
