Marie D. Brandon

Marie Brandon – known affectionately as Mom, Grandmom, GiGi & ReRe to her family, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2024 in Reading (PA) Hospital.

Marie was born on July 27, 1929 and raised in Drexel Hill, PA and although lived in many places over the years, always referred to Drexel Hill as “home”. 

Marie was known by her family and friends to be exceptionally kind, warm and friendly, with a great sense of humor and gregarious personality. 

Marie was married to the late Robert L (Bob) Brandon and a loving mother to son Rob Brandon, daughters Donna Aglira (Tom), and Debbie Orr (Joe).  Marie is survived by her brothers John & Kevin Bustard, grandchildren Jocelyn (Mark), Adam (Tara), Renee (D’Angelo), Rachael (Brian), and Jim Wood, great-grandchildren Teagan, Maeve, Ben and Bella, nieces Jamie McNatt (Jason) and Julia Rose Curry (Joe) and their children.  Marie’s additional family is vast and she made many friends through her lifetime.  She will be greatly missed by all.

Proud of her Irish-Catholic heritage, Marie often visited Ireland as well as many other locales throughout the world.  Beyond travel, Marie enjoyed reading, word games (especially crossword puzzles), and beating everyone at gin rummy.

Marie’s kindness was vast and extended beyond just friends and family.  She loved animals and the many dogs that she had as furry companions throughout her life.  Her thoughtfulness was evident in the way she always remembered everyone’s birthday and she loved the holidays, especially Christmas, when every corner of her home was decorated to the hilt.

In the hearts and memories of those who knew her, Marie will be remembered as a woman who lived life fully, with a quick wit and a generous heart. She was a guiding light in her family, a steadfast friend, and a person who brought joy and laughter to every occasion.

Relatives and friends are invited to Marie’s Visitation at 9:30 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM on Friday, December 20, 2024 at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 3500 School Lane, Drexel Hill, PA 19026.
