Margaret Man-Wai Tang, 86, of Glen Mills PA, passed away on January 11, 2021, peacefully in her sleep.
Margaret, born on July 14, 1934, to Shuk-Han Yang Lau and Kam-King Lau, of Guangzhao, China, brought compassion and love everywhere she went and to everyone she met. Her family moved to Macau in 1948 and Margaret later went on to study Education at Taiwan Normal University. Margaret taught English in Macau and Hong Kong before immigrating to the United States in 1972. Upon her arrival to the United States, Margaret began a new career as Laboratory Manager at the William Pepper Laboratory at the University of Pennsylvania for the next 25 years, until her retirement in 1997.
In 1979, through family friends, Margaret began mail correspondence with Wei-Yun (John) Tang, who at the time lived in China. The two met in person for the first time one year later and married in November of 1980. Margaret and John were married for 40 years, celebrating their 40th anniversary this past November. Margaret was a woman of many traits, great accomplishments, full of beauty, intelligence and above all else, was a dedicated mother and wife. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill.
Margaret was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Peter.
Margaret is survived by her husband John (Wei-Yun); Daughter Josephine (Timothy); Grandchildren, Grace, Hunter, and Isabel and Siblings, Agnes and Francis (Maria).
