Margaret Ann (McGarity) Swanson

Margaret A Swanson (McGarity), 59, of Exton passed away on May 8, 2022 in her home surrounded by family. Born in 1963, Meg was the beloved daughter of the late Daniel and Jane (Russell) McGarity. She was the beloved wife of Chris; loving mother of Christopher, Patrick, and Hayley; dear sister of Jane McDivitt, Beth Hargadon (James), Daniel McGarity (Cheryl), Kathleen Summers, and the late Suzann Donnelly (Michael); aunt of Michael (Joy), Rob (Miriam), B.J., Tom, David (Heather), Ryan, Katie (Josh), Dan, Matt, Ashly, Jared (Rachael), Jake (Anna), Mark (Elisa), Eric, Katrina, Korey, Kevin, Paul Michael, Tanner, and Trey.

Meg was raised in Delaware County, where she made countless memories with her 5 older siblings. She graduated from Penncrest High School in 1981 and Gwynedd Mercy University. Meg had a passion for helping others. She worked for the Chester County Intermediate Unit for many years as a job trainer for children and young adults with intellectual disabilities. She enjoyed spending her summers at her shore house in Sea Isle City. Her hobbies included attending Eagles games, hosting holidays/parties, playing games, travelling, and walking her beloved dog, Saylor. Meg was extremely caring and selfless, always putting others before herself. She had a kind heart, warm smile, and welcoming spirit. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, dedicated mother, supportive sister, and loyal friend.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 13, 2022 at Saints Philip & James Church, 107 N. Ship Road (corner of Ship Rd & Rte 30), Exton, PA  19341 where friends may call 9:30-10:45 A.M. at the Church.  Interment Saint Agnes Cemetery.
