Mahesh Ranganathan Obituary

Mahesh Ranganathan passed away peacefully from a world diminished by his absence on October 10th, 2025 in Philadelphia. Remarkably and poignantly, he departed exactly two years to the date of his beloved father’s passing, a reflection of the deep bond they shared. Born on October 24, 1974, to Parimalam (nee Thankachi) and the late Dr. Natarajan Ranganathan, Mahesh’s life was a tapestry of cultural appreciation, academic excellence, and unwavering devotion to those he loved.

A proud alumnus of St. Joseph’s University, Mahesh pursued his MBA as a testament to his intellectual curiosity and dedication to lifelong learning. He built a successful career as an International Product Manager at Kibow Biotech, the family’s company, where he was admired for his innovative thinking, integrity, and commitment to meaningful work rooted in science and service.

Beyond such formal categories he truly came into his own as a world traveler, a multilinguist, as a man with an innate affinity for multi-culturalism.  The Far East was his specialty, especially after his high school year in Japan. Mahesh had a gift for forming meaningful connections across cultures. His love of international travel and his proficiency in several languages allowed him not only to explore the world, but also to build lasting friendships around the globe.

He was in his prime a large man, with a broad frame, but beneath that appearance was an extreme gentleness of nature. He gave selflessly to others throughout his lifetime.  It was no surprise to those who knew him when they learned that Mahesh had signed consent forms for organ donation; at his end, as in his life, he gave his heart.

Mahesh is preceded in death by his father, Dr. Natarajan Ranganathan, and his brother, Ramesh Ranganathan. He is survived by his loving mother, Parimalam, as well as extended family, colleagues, and many dear friends who will forever cherish his warmth, gentle humor, and generous spirit.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM in the Chapel of Peace at Laurel Hill Cemetery, 398 Belmont Ave., Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.  Live Stream
