"Madeleine" Tho Thi Nguyen

Tho "Madeleine" Thi Nguyen, 91, of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully in the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania on Wednesday, July 13th, 2022. She was the widow of Ung Van Nguyen.

Born in Ha Dong, Hanoi, Vietnam on December 2, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Bong Nguyen and Ma Thi Duong Nguyen. Sadly, Madeleine's husband passed when she was the tender age of 24, just months after giving birth to their only child, Minhhanh Thi Hguyen.

Devoted to her faith, she enjoyed praying and reading the bible. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family.

Surviving is her daughter, Minhhanh Thi Nguyen of Philadelphia and four grandchildren, Yvonne Dang and her husband, Henry Lam, Antony Dang, Nicholas Dang and Catherine Dang.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 23rd, 2022 at 11am in her home church, St. Francis de Sales Parish, 4625 Springfield Ave., Philadelphia with Monsignor George L. Strausser as celebrant. A viewing will be in the church on Saturday from 10 to 11am. Interment is private.
