Lincoln Hanson Obituary

Lincoln Robert Hanson, known lovingly as Linc, was born on July 12, 2017, in Chester, Pennsylvania, and passed away on May 29, 2026, at Sloan Kettering Hospital in Manhattan, New York, after a courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Lymphoma.

Although his battle with cancer has ended, his kind heart, pure soul and courageous attitude will live on through the many people he touched. Despite the hand that was so cruelly dealt to him, he showed such grace, unflinching bravery and compassion to everyone fortunate enough to know him. In spite of the disappointing setbacks due to his cancer, he was more worried how it would affect others and not himself, a mark of uncanny bravery which was wiser than his years. I’m sure every mother and father says this about their child upon their passing but he truly is so special. Although his light shined extremely bright to all who came in contact with him, it was dimmed far too early and we believe the world is poorer because of it.

He was a beloved son of his father Jay and the best friend, his mother Megan, could have ever dreamed of. Linc shared a close, special bond with his little brother Gunnar, always taking him underneath his wing, especially when it came to pranking Dad and making Mom regain order. He was adored by his grandparents, Kevin and Donna Bauer, and was deeply loved by his aunt and godmother, Kristine Bauer; his aunt, Desiree (Joseph) Hager; his great aunts, Dianne (George Griffith) Royal and Patty Galloway; and his cousin and godmother, Amanda (Dave) Miller. He also held close relationships with his cousins Steven Royal, Fox Royal, Jaime Hager, Jack Hager, Kendall Miller, Ari Royal, Savannah Miller, and Roman Royal. His family was a source of strength and love throughout his life, and he was a treasured part of each of their hearts.

Linc attended Glenolden Elementary, where he was known for his gentle nature and his outgoing personality. He approached school and life with curiosity and drive, and he touched his classmates, teachers and others in his community with  the same effect that he would give anyone. His laughter, his compassion, and his ability to care so deeply for others made him unforgettable.

Those who adored Lincoln will remember his ability to make all feel appreciated and included in every circumstance. He had the innate ability to face adversity with humor and a calming ease; which proves he’s truly an old soul. Even during times of strife, Lincoln would find ways to lead others to happiness and enjoyment.

His memory and legacy will live on in the stories shared by his family, in the lives he touched, and in the deep bond that remains among those who loved him. He will be remembered always as an irreplaceable son, devoted brother, a beloved grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend.
