Libro Taglianetti Obituary

Libro G. Taglianetti Jr passed away on July 26, 2018 in Philadelphia, PA at the age of 67.

Libro is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years Barbe Taglianetti; his children, Justin Taglianetti and Candace Bossell and their spouses Jillian Gonzales and Andrew Bossell respectively; his sister, Linda Taglianetti and Barbara DeMann.

Libro was born on February 26, 1951 in Philadelphia, PA to Libro Sr., and Marie Taglianetti who he will now be reunited with in the afterlife.  He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1972 and continued his education by graduating from Dickinson Law in 1975.  He married his first and only love, Barbe Nugent, whom he met when he was in the 9th grade.  Upon graduation, Libro started his own law firm, but his work would never stand in the way of his greatest passion -- which was supporting his children at every sports game throughout their athletic careers.

Libro’s love for sports began at a young age and that dedication led him to become an accomplished Olympic Weightlifter; winning the NCAA National Championship, Jr. National Championship and many other medals throughout his weightlifting career. His two children, 14 nieces and nephews and 12 brother and sister in law’s would say that “Leeb” was a connoisseur of fine wines, always liked to give you an “honest opinion” on the best restaurants and top activities to experience at every vacation spot.  He was an avid saltwater fisherman who loved spending time on the water, with his favorite sport fishing spot being the Bahamas.  He was obsessed with english bulldogs, but also cared deeply about all dogs; so much so that he would feed the abandoned dogs in Fairmount Park weekly on his way home from work.

A funeral is scheduled for August 2, 2018 at Logan Funeral Home, 57 S. Eagle Rd. Havertown, PA, with a private reception to follow.  All are welcome to attend and celebrate Libro's life, beginning with calling hours from 9:30-11a, followed by a few words from family and friends beginning at 11:00 A.M.. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to treasurer@rescuebulldogs.org at www.rescuebulldogs.org

The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Gupta and Dr. Li of Bryn Mawr Hospital and their respective staffs for their wonderful care of Libro.
