Kerwin Nailor Obituary

Kerwin Charles Nailor, a man of profound kindness, analytical prowess, and intelligence, left this world on August 19, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on January 12, 1939, in Dillsburg, he was a son of the late Eli Yost and Kathryn Louise (Whitcomb) Nailor. Kerwin's passing in Newtown Square marked the end of a life rich in family, service, and accomplishment.

Kerwin's early years in Dillsburg, PA laid the foundation for a life of dedication and hard work. His pursuit of education led him to achieve a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Villanova University in 1970, a testament to his intelligence and determination. He began his career as a computer programmer, adapting to the rapidly evolving world of technology with ease. His expertise and forward-thinking approach allowed him to excel as a systems integrator, a role he held with distinction until his retirement in 2000.

Beyond his professional life, Kerwin served his country with honor as a retired Naval Captain, dedicating 30.5 years to the service. His commitment to his nation was paralleled only by his dedication to his family. He is survived by his beloved spouse, Marjorie "Jorie" Higgins Nailor, whom he married on December 21, 2004, and his children, Michael Nailor and his wife, Joann; Mark Nailor and his wife, Debbie; Amy Nailor; and Jane (Nailor) Bonner and her husband, Andy. Kerwin also embraced his role as a stepfather to Merritt Anderson McLean and her spouse, Kerri, and Griffin Budd Evans. His legacy continues through his adored grandchildren Erin, Gillian, Peyton and step grandchildren, Kelsey, Craig, Brendan, Shawn, Katie, Scarlett, Finn, Roman and Nikolas.

Kerwin was a cherished brother to Gerald Nailor and his wife, Jeannie, Wilmer Nailor and his wife, Judy, his predeceased sister Barbara and her husband Bob Sidle, and his nieces and nephews, Dawn, Annie, Rick, Keith, Robin, Sharon, Suzanne, Shelley, and Scott.

Kerwin's life was characterized by his love for his family and his passion for his interests. His skill on the ski slopes was evident in all the NASTAR ski racing medals he won over the many years starting at Vail in 1967. He was a man who found joy in the details, whether it was through his work, his hobbies of antique car reconstruction and home renovations or in the quiet moments spent with loved ones. His analytical mind never rested, always seeking to understand the world around him and to share that understanding with others.

As we remember Kerwin, we are reminded of the impact one individual can have through a lifetime of service, love, and integrity. His memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of those who knew him. Kerwin's journey on earth has concluded, but the values he instilled in his family and the love he shared with his friends will forever be a beacon of light in their lives. His was a well-lived life, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
